What is Laboratory Grade?

lab grade

The term Laboratory Grade was coined in 2000 to establish a point of reference for products that were intended for use in a laboratory. While there were other products in the market that had similar appearance and function, they lack the heavy-duty construction to withstand the demands of a science lab.  Equally important they lacked the chemical resistance necessary to withstand the laboratory environment.  So while the kitchen and office products appeared similar to laboratory products, they lacked the performance necessary to consider laboratory grade.
