Shanghai

Dear SEFA Member,

Please allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Chip Albright, President of Creative Solutions.

For over 30 years I have been active in the design, manufacturing and marketing of laboratory furniture and fume hoods.  In those years, I worked for a variety of industry leaders including, Kewaunee, Jamestown, Collegedale, and ALC- Collegedale.  I am an independent consultant and a SEFA Member, but not directly affiliated with SEFA.  Creative Solutions, is an International Consulting Group specializing in laboratory furniture and fume hoods.

With the new requirement to have at least one product independently certified to be a SEFA member, I thought you might have questions about laboratory-grade products and SEFA.  Since 1992 I have been very active in SEFA. I have served in many capacities including Chair in 1999 – 2000.  In those 20 plus years, I spent 8 years on the Board of Directors and have witnessed the growth of this organization from a small US association to a global powerhouse.

Now as an independent consultant, I have clients both large and small in over a dozen countries.  Whether we are focusing on product design, engineering, lean manufacturing, sales & marketing or executive coaching, we are proven problem solvers. Creative Solutions can assist with the most complex issues.

Since 1992 I have very active in SEFA. I have served in many capacities including Chair in 1999 – 2000.  In those 20 plus years, I spent 8 years on the Board of Directors and have witnessed the growth of this organization from a small US association to a global powerhouse.

Much of the early efforts at SEFA were focused on developing Recommended Practices which have become the standard for Laboratory Grade Products.   I participated on the original SEFA 8 committee in the late 1990s as well as many others since then.  Currently I am the co-chair of SEFA 10, Adaptable Furniture Systems.  These Recommended Practices define laboratory grade products and are now a basis for SEFA membership.  Companies are required to have at least one product successfully tested under SEFA standards to be a member.

At Creative Solutions, one our many activities involves SEFA Testing. Over the years I have tested many products. Many passed and quite a few failed.  These tests are challenging and intended to demonstrate that your organization can design engineer, and manufacture laboratory grade product.

With the new requirement to have at least one product independently certified to be a SEFA member, I thought you might have questions about laboratory-grade products and SEFA or require some assistance.

I am tentatively planning a trip to the Shanghai area in July 2017.  Recognizing that SEFA has many members in the area, I thought this might an opportunity to offer my services at a greatly reduced rate.  Understanding that the testing can be confusing this would be an opportunity to speak with an expert.

If you have an interest please let me know and I will contact you when the trip is confirmed.  If you want to know more about me or my company Creative Solutions, please visit my website.  It uses Google Translate and many of the pages can be viewed in Chinese.  www.letsworktogether.us

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Creative Solutions Chip Albright President
